Qualified Domestic Relations Orders
In some cases, you might have pensions or retirement plans through your employer. With the help of your mediator, you can decide if these investments will be shared in any way. When that happens, a court order is required in Long Island, NY, known as a Qualified Domestic Relations Order. The QDRO usually cannot be signed until the divorce is finalized.
We will handle the preparation of any necessary documents, communication with the plan administrators, and filing of the paperwork. Once that is completed, we can move forward with the QDRO. During the consultation, we'll also discuss any additional fees associated with this part of the process.
